Dixie Dude Ranch is one of the oldest names in Texas ranch vacations. It was founded in 1901 near Bandera, the Hill Country town that calls itself the Cowboy Capital of the World, and today covers more than 700 acres of rolling hills.
Guided horseback rides through the hills are the heart of a stay, and guests sleep in Western-style cottages. With San Antonio about an hour away, the ranch is an easy way to add a few days of riding to a Texas trip, especially in spring and fall when Hill Country weather is at its most comfortable.
