THE EXPERIENCE
Where Every Moment Tells a Story
Triangle X is one of very few dude ranches located inside a national park. It sits at about 6,800 feet in Grand Teton National Park, 26 miles north of Jackson and 32 miles south of Yellowstone, with the Teton Range across the valley. The Turner family has run it for five generations, and its log cabins were built by the family from logs hauled in by horse teams; each cabin is named after an early guest family.
Summer is the main season, from May through October, with week-long stays between May and September and room for about 75 guests. Days revolve around horseback riding, from beginner rides to faster rides for confident riders, with trail riding from age 6. The ranch also runs pack trips, Snake River float trips, fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing, and children’s programs for ages 6 to 17. Meals range from cowboy breakfasts and lunch cookouts to family-style dinners.
Triangle X also opens in winter, from December through March, with a four-night minimum and snow activities in the park. There are 20 log cabins with one to four bedrooms, many with porches facing the Tetons. Jackson Hole Airport is about 16 miles away and the ranch offers an airport shuttle. Ask the ranch for current rates.
