Sedalia, Colorado

THE EXPERIENCE

Where Every Moment Tells a Story

Lost Valley Ranch sits at about 7,500 feet near Sedalia, surrounded by more than 26,000 acres of Pike National Forest that guests can ride through. It has more than a century of ranching history and, at about 44 miles from Denver International Airport, is one of the easiest classic dude ranches to reach in Colorado.

The ranch hosts up to about 100 guests and is open from March through November. Summer weeks from June through August are seven-night stays; in spring and fall the minimum drops to three nights, and adults-only weeks are scheduled outside peak summer. The riding program runs from beginner rides and horsemanship lessons to faster rides and cattle work, with trail riding from age 6, and children’s programs cover ages 2 to 17. There is also trap shooting and archery, fishing, hiking, rock climbing, tennis, a heated outdoor pool and three hot tubs, and spa treatments and massages.

Guests stay in one- to three-bedroom cabin suites with living rooms, stone fireplaces and porches, some with jetted tubs. Meals are made from scratch, with made-to-order breakfasts. The ranch offers an airport shuttle and babysitting. Ask the ranch for current rates.
