Sundance Trail Ranch is a small guest ranch at about 8,000 feet near Red Feather Lakes in the mountains of northern Colorado, and calls itself one of the smallest ranches in the state. It hosts up to 24 guests and is open year-round, with stays from three nights, including winter riding and snow activities.
Riding covers beginner rides, horsemanship and private lessons, faster trotting and loping rides and pony rides, with trail riding from age 6. Guests can also hike, rock climb, raft, and try archery and shooting. The ranch runs adults-only weeks, girlfriend getaways and horse clinics, and hosts weddings.
Guests stay in lodge suites or private cabins with private baths and separate entrances, with daily housekeeping, and some options are pet-friendly. Meals are shared and home-cooked by a chef who lives on the ranch year-round, and dietary needs can be handled with notice. There is a hot tub and game room.
