Red Rock Ranch lies at about 7,200 feet in the Gros Ventre Mountains near Jackson Hole, surrounded by the Bridger-Teton National Forest and reached down a long dirt road. It has offered dude ranch vacations since 1974 and has been run by the same family for decades.
The season runs from June through August, with six-night stays in summer and three-night stays at the start and end of the season, for up to about 35 guests. Riding covers beginner rides, horsemanship lessons, cattle work, team penning and trail rides, with trail riding from age 6 and children’s programs for ages 6 to 12 that include comprehensive riding lessons and vaulting, gymnastics on horseback. There is also fly fishing, guided hikes, pickleball, yoga, birdwatching, swimming, a hot tub and massages.
Guests stay in log cabins with private porches and wood stoves, or in lodge rooms, and meals range from cookouts and lunch rides to dinners in the main dining room. Jackson Hole Airport is the nearest airport. Ask the ranch for current rates.
